Christmas Decorating

As it’s officially December, have you taken the challenge of Christmas decorating yet?

The Christmas decorating task is a bit like marmite. You love it or you hate it. Personally, I love it! I had my tree up on Sunday…it makes the house feel so much warmer and inviting. If you have kids I am sure they love this special event in the calendar.

Although you might have an attic full of decorations, it’s always nice to buy a new piece every year. If you are not sure what to do this Christmas, keep reading my little suggestions.

Twig tree

I first saw these last year and wasn’t too sure what to make of them. Now I love them! For the minimalistic, this tree is the one for you. A pre lit tree with very little branches, it is a more modern take on Christmas.

Window Stickers

We have these in our office and we all love them. A really cheap and cheerful way of brightening up your home, these stickers can be bought from B & M Bargains for as little as £1.49.

Battery operated lights

We all become ‘greener’ with our recycling, we are always more energy efficient. With Christmas lights comes a higher electricity bill but there are ways around this. Why not try our some battery-operated lights? They look great around the fireplace or around your curtain poles.

 The garden

There are lots of things you can do with your garden at Christmas time. Firstly, invest in some winter plants that will withstand the frost. Decorate these with coloured spray or some outdoor lighting. Don’t forget the wreath for the front door!
