2018 Kitchen Trends

With the rapid changes in kitchen design over the past 5 years, it’s been great to see such a variety of new styles and finishes on the market in 2017 to reflect this. The style stakes have been explored in depth from traditional to contemporary, but what’s in store for 2018 kitchen trends?

As a kitchen door manufacturer, we investigate the market every year to bring you the latest trends from across the globe make sure that your new kitchen is guaranteed to have that je ne sais quoi. From woodgrains to blues to marble effects, it’s all covered here.

Hues of Blue

Undoubtedly the biggest colour trend the industry has seen this year is the desire to have blue in the kitchen and this blue trend is set to peak in 2018. This bold and dramatic move is for those who are brave and want to make a statement within the home. Kieran McCracken Creative Director at BA Components tells us;

“We’ve launched two new very different blues to our kitchen range; Baltic Blue and Matt Denim. The striking Baltic Blue is an Ultragloss finish and not for the faint hearted. In contrast, our new Matt Denim is a softer shade of blue in a matt finish which will look great on it’s own or teamed with a woodgrain door.”

Warming Woodgrains

Mixing and matching solid colours with woodgrain finishes is something that has proved extremely popular over the past 18 months. Consumers want to add texture and depth to their new kitchens and woodgrains are the way to do it.

To give the consumer even more variety, Components have launched the new Natural Walnut and Tortona Natural Oak for 2018. The deep and dark look from the Natural Walnut gives warmth to any kitchen and for those seeking a more traditional feel in the kitchen, Tortona Natural Oak reflecting fresh modern grey hues is the perfect fit.

Marvelous Marble

If Marble is your thing but not quite within your budget then check out our new Oriental black. The characterful veining mimics real marble and will certainly add grandness and luxury to any kitchen. If it’s opulence and indulgence you are after then this new colour is definitely for you.

Shaker Styles

In a world where handle-less and slab doors are taking over the kitchen industry; it may be surprising to some that the Shaker door is still a popular choice with kitchen buyers.

In recent years we have experienced a 16% increase in Shaker style doors sales. Shaker offers distinctive yet practical styling as many consumers opt for a traditional design with unicolour matt finishes being very popular.” Kieran said.

In response to this, we’ve introduced a new shaker style. The Aldridge door is a traditional take on the standard Shaker door but with some subtle design differences that make it unique to the collection; this door will definitely stand the test of time in styling and design and will make its presence felt in the home.

The Industrial movement

Exposed, raw and edgy is how we would describe our new Concrete colour. And with the industrial and loft apartment look continuing to be a big hit, London Concrete ticks all the boxes for those seeking to create a ‘Manhattan Warehouse’ space.
