BKU Awards Honour David Caulfield

As many of you are aware BA’s Sales and Marketing Director, David Caulfield, sadly passed away at the start of the year.

For those who knew, or even briefly met, David, it was hard not to be encapsulated by his vivid personality, passionate advocacy for life, and his natural business talent and vision. He was highly respected in the KBB industry, and his contribution and enthusiasm for BA over 12 years cannot be underestimated.

But most importantly David was a family man and his untimely passing has not been felt more greatly than by his family.

BKU Awards - David Caulfield

At the 2019 BKU Awards, David was posthumously presented the ‘Outstanding Contribution Award’ in recognition of his passion and contributions to the KBB industry. His son Alisdair accepted the accolade on his father’s behalf.

“As a family growing up Dad was always there, with a guiding hand, a supportive shoulder and if and when you needed it a little motivational nugget just to get you through and back on track,” Alisdair commented, “Over the period of Dad’s illness we soon came to realise that he took this same approach with his teams, he was always there with a sympathetic ear, a guiding hand and its these little things that made him a great man, a great leader, a great friend and a great Dad.”

“Throughout his short illness Dad kept a blog and one of the passages stood out as perfect for today-

“We all know work can bring many challenges but also many new opportunities. To accomplish great things, you must not only act, but you must dream, you must plan and most importantly you must also believe.”

In his honour the ‘Outstanding Contribution Award’ will be renamed the ‘David Caulfield Award’. A fitting tribute to an incredible man.
