With all the hype surrounding the release of the controversial Fifty Shades of Grey movie, I can’t help but think about all our grey kitchens! Anything to do with interiors and I am slightly obsessed.
I don’t think that the grey trend in interiors is directly related to the aptly named Mr. Grey, but it sure is a good selling point! Ever since the release of the books a few years ago, women everywhere have been in awe off their Mr. Grey…only to be told that our very own Jamie Dornan was to be cast as the main man himself. Was it the Northern Ireland accent that caught the producer’s eyes (or should we say ears?) After all, the Northern Ireland accent has been named the sexiest accent in the UK. Ok, so maybe the Northern Ireland accent had nothing to do with the casting; can you imagine Mr. Grey shouting ‘Bout ye!’ when he meets Anastasia for the first time. No, me either.
I think I am getting slightly side tracked on the whole Jamie Dornan issue so onto our kitchens.
With a grey living room, and soon to be grey hall stairs and landing, it is fair to say I love grey. I am planning my grey kitchen as we speak, but what is it that makes grey so appealing?
It’s a fairly neutral colour and that is what I like about it. It is easy to match it with any other colour and isn’t as plain as the main stream creams. The kitchen is the heart of the home and it is good to create a calming environment using greys.
With 14 shades of grey on the BA Components books, there is definitely one to suit your taste. We have just launched an Opengrain Dark Grey in the Bella range and in our brand new Glidor range we have Light Concrete, Ultragloss Light Grey, Ultragloss Metallic Basalt and Stone Grey.
